cards against humanty gt yrq wc
verifying dmi pool data what causes it and how do I fix it
When I turn my desktop pc on, with MS XP OS,
card against humanity, first black screen is ok, the second = that of the title hangs and with no mouse pointer to work with.
Tried all sorts, inserting a stiffy occasionally did the trick in telling me to remove it, then where angels fear to tread, into the bios/cmos I went, disabling/enabling thermal throttling option works each time I click on either, but not always.
then the date and clock, the latter ok but no luck with month in text fashion.
Meanwhile, when occasionally up and running I had no problems including
accessing the net and googling ok.
So, please help, what causes the verifying dmi and why, and how can I fix it. If help me you can, would please email the solution/s also, inaddition to the forum, at
Thank you
Scouse dave I dont think my clapping on 70 next birthday helps either.
Thank you for you responseS, I have installed a new CMOS battery and the clock and date at least ok,
cards against humanity card list?, else where or whatever I do not have the experience. I did remove, wipe clean and replace/reseat both ram cards and my Stiffy is completely disconected, due to problems of last year.
I addition to any further advice you may offer, would you advise me of what causes the Verifying DMI pool data to hang. Ihave been into the CMOS, namely the thermal throttling, one way or the other I reset enabled to disabled and by chance windows booted up but only once, and likewise when reset it to disabled, or was it the other way around? I am very inexperienced pc os wise and foolishly tread where angels do not.
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600VERY basically, the DMI pool data is gathered at the first boot and is a list of all the hardware on the motherboard.
This is necessary for the Bios to allocate resources to services.
IF the Bios gets tilted (low voltage, lightning spikes/overvoltage, etc) this data may be damaged/reset.
So it has to rebuild the data list,
cards against humanity card ideas.
BUT, if the cause is a low Cmos battery voltage letting the DMI memory fail, then replacing the battery often is the cure.
However,
personalized cards against humanity?, as you have now stated 2x, you also have heat issues whereby playing with the ‘throttle’ setting has allowed some operability.
That being the case, I’d suspect a loose cpu heatsink or inoperable/loose cpu fan.
