Radiator leaking continuously...been advised by mechanic not to replace as new one are just as bad "keep topping up". Tx4..57 plate nearside front door rusting from inside out needs remedial work before next overhaul. Gearbox replaced at 85k.... temperature gauge is totally erratic this is the latest one done just before warranty expired. Goes through tyres like theres no tomorrow. Diesel engine drinking fuel like i'm running a ship.. serviced on time every time yet coughing out smoke like someone's shovelling coal up front.

LTI we had very little choice from TX2 - TX4 which are the lesser of the evil?
I paid with interest rates in excess of £44000 for my TX4 this is quite clearly the worst value for money item I have ever purchased, it really is a disgrace. I hope other vehicles are allowed to ply for hire in the streets of London... is it then you'll get your act together
or just watch drivers leaving the crap behind in droves?

Mann & Overton's customer care really is shocking from the onset of purchasing..the only time they would call you is if they think there is a remote chance of selling you a cab which is at it's best sat in the showroom. All who read this do yourselves favours by waiting for alternatives..TX4's far too costly & unreliable!

My mobile mechanic may be able to help if you have any problems with your Cab. Ylber is based in North London and has helped me out a few times. Tell him that Alan gave you his details.

I have Just had my tx4 remapped by Regal of Southampton ,not the plug in type but a remap from Bosh. although mine's a manual I've have'nt had it done long enough to state any decrease in fuel consumption.

Since getting a new TX4 five weeks back, I have done less than four thousand uncomfortable miles in that horrible seat. The driver's electric window has jammed, the rear o/s door will not close unless slammed, there is a severe knocking from the steering on full lock, the strap on the rear door snapped off, and the driver's seat base is worn already! 22 miles to the gallon.

The sad thing is, I live in a licensing region that allows saloon cars, so the blunder is my fault. London Taxis are a disgrace.

I am now a bit concerned having read this....I bought a new TX4 a month ago and took it on over 5 years. I only hope that when the 3 year/100.000 mile warranty expires the vehicle will be worth more than my settlement figure and I will be able to get rid of it!

Having just bought a new TX4 automatic last week (February 2012) I am now worried having read this. The fuel consumption is poor and the driving position is terrible. I stilll have 60 payments left at £650 per month! Oh dear! At least I have a 3 year 100.000 mile warranty.
